    abacavir

    why cant acabavir be used to treat bacterial infections? any help will be appriciated thanks

    Abacavir is an anti-HIV drug and not an anti-bacterial.

    It's listed in the BNF as a reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Reverse transcriptase is a viral enzyme, which is necessary to make new viral DNA.
