hi has anybody started there training for eps 2 for when it goes live im not sure but i think it might be this summer i think there will be problems in the beginning after that im not sure does anyone no if it is up and running anywere in the uk and if so how you finding it sezza

I've used it in Suffolk, and it's pretty good if everything is working as it should. Half the time this was not the case as i was using it in its developing stages.
It all depends on the PMR sytem you use. We were using Pharmacy Manager, which was generally good, and the EPS/ETP utilities looked promising.
Baring this in mind we were still scanning barcodes off of prescriptions so it wasnt fully electronic, save the odd script in testing. I dont work there anymore but am still in touch with them so i'll get some feedback.

If your are doing EPSR1 Scripts by scanning the barcode, then scan the script as soon as it is handed to you.Originally Posted by sezza

EPS2 is running at a few sites. Don't worry you will be fine as and when you need to use it. Its just the same but different.

As Pharmanaut has said, scanning paper scripts is EPS release ONE not EPSr2.
My advice to everyone is make yourself familiar with Release one which is available to everyone now. Just a few scripts each day will be enough. If you do that then the transition to release 2 will be alot simpler.

Make sure you get customer loyalty in place before the 'nomination wars' start.
"Big business" will surely make a play for nominations on their delivery services in the land grab for script numbers.
Start a "keep services local" campaign if necessary based on access in bad weather; just think of the disruption last winter.
