I'm currently doing nvq level 3 and my lead assessor has told me that I need at least 8 pieces of work to cover each element, when on our EELS sheet it states the minimum as 4. Can anyone clarify this please? Thanks
Hi Punkliz
I am doing my NVQ3 with the NPA and my unit workbook states the minimum number of pieces of work to cover each element, it varies with each unit but it does say e.g. "you need at least" so many pieces to cover this element. I always try to do the amount that they ask for plus one more. Hope you get on ok and good luck xx
I pretty much concur with ginny and greenmonkey - I always do the minimum they ask for, and if that doesn't cover all the ranges/criteria/knowledge then I do as many as I need to just to ensure I have covered everything. It can depend on the Unit and what the topic is to be honest as well. Don't forget you can sometimes use the same report for different elements too in some cases. x
Thanks everyone for replying. I don't have a workbook as such which states the minimum, just my EELS sheet on vqmanager, which states a minimum of 4 bits of work. I'm a tad confused!
Are you doing NPA or Buttercups? I'm doing NPA and EELS and vqmanager mean nothing to me. Don't knowif it's different with Buttercups & no of reports or not x
Hi Ginny
I'm doing City and Guilds. VQmanager is an online system and an EELS sheet is where every piece of work marked is recorded. There seem to be different versions of the same qualification.
Oh- gets confusing with all these different versions. I'd say go by what is on the EELS for a minimum. Is there someone else you can call for verification other than the assessor? If I was unsure of something I'd call the NPA.
Good luck.
