OMG i am so behind. Im almost a month late handing it in and havent even opened my next two modules that have arrived already. Im now getting stressed out.
Im stuck on Unit 11 element 3.
Mainly the bit about 'out of service'. Ive looked on the PCT website and cant find anything, and the same with PSNC. I really dont have a clue!
And also, do i write a report about the 20 script examples. If so what sort of thing do i need to put?? I can see me waffling on a bit!!
Please help me!!!
Kate
I explained that our PCT only has "out of hours" arrangements to cover bank holidays, as we have 2 large supermarket Pharmacies nearby that are not far off 24 hours, and the majoirty of Pharmacies in the area open on Sundays. I put how they send us a form to put in our proposed hours for bank holidays, usually a year in advance, one Pharmacy is designated as the "rota" pharmacy, and will be paid a set amount for the core 4 hours that they are required to be open. I also mentioned about the Out of Hours Formulary, where it is in the Drug Tariff, and what it means.
Regarding the 20 scripts, write a report about one of them (I chose a specials item to write about, as I also claimed P&P) but then attached 19 other scripts and wrote a sentence or so underneath each one about what I had endorsed and why.
what is a PSNC document in terms of the out of hours services?? Also with the pharmacists assesment question....does it have to be the one in the unit 11 book or can it be any question that covers the criteria?
I had the same problem with the whole out of hours service thing and I have to admit I scoured the internet and the PSNC website looking for anything remotely connected to it. I also had the pharmacist set me a question along the lines of "Describe what is meant by an out of hours service and find out if our pharmacy participates in this service." Or something like that...as you can probably see at the time I'm posting this its pretty late and my brain is a little mushy
Regarding the PSNC document - there is one called NHS Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework Enhanced Service – Out of Hours (Access to Medicines). If you use the search box and type in out of hours you'll find it listed as the 4th item down (it does for me when I do a search for it). I've no idea if thats any help to you or if you work in a community pharmacy but I used that as part of my evidence and it was accepted.
its also in the drug tariff i just photocopied the pages and wrote a report saying that we dont do out of hours but here is the information and where it can be found and that was accepted
