Re: Module 11 - Dispensing and product formulation
Hi Krisi,
I completed Module 11 in October and just got the results back last week. Now on Module 12 alongside Unit 3 and I have to admit am struggling slightly with the Unit.
Hope you're doing well if you're on the course, and am happy to give a heads up to anyone who needs a hand
Re: Module 11 - Dispensing and product formulation
Hi krisi,
I've done Module 11, just tryng to finish off Unit 3 ready to send it all off.
Have to admit, although its stuff we need to know, it didn't interest me & I really had to kick my own butt to get on with it!
The Calculation paper wasn't as bad as I'd expected.
How are you finding it?
Gin
Re: Module 11 - Dispensing and product formulation
Hi i have just finished Module 11 and Unit 3 and doing the calculation paper tomorro during work hours, was it really not that bad? (im someone who doesnt get on very well with calculations)
Also the unit that goes alongside module 12 looks difficult has anyone started that yet?

Re: Module 11 - Dispensing and product formulation
Hi loopy/Louise
The calculation paper is fine as long as you know the formulas for the calculations and show all your workings - though I did need a calculator for a couple of them. Couple questions which could catch you out and an have to give a little bit of thought on, but thats probably the norm.
Unit 11 is the one that goes alongside Module 12 and I'll admit its been tough, especially as they ask about things that are not done in our pharmacy such as MDS (Monitored Dosage Systems) and oxygen provision, not to mention some of the endorsements they require for prescriptions are in my opinion, outdated. Anyway, you'll see what I mean when you get there. Good luck on the calculations paper!
Re: Module 11 - Dispensing and product formulation
Hi Louise & Tarnia,
Good to know I'm not the only 1 who thinks Unit 11 is tricky. Sill really, as in some ways its the 1 most linked to our jobs, but I don't see half of what they're asking for.
And not wishing to moan, but module 12 looks huge!

Re: Module 11 - Dispensing and product formulation
Hey Ginny,
I've completed the short answer questions and case study for Module 12 but its taken much longer then the 3 hours they say to allocate for it. So far with the Unit I've planned out roughly what activity reports and simulations I need to do to cover the criteria and ranges, and I've sat down with my supervising pharmacist today and he's given me the simulation questions and looked over my work which is helpful as it seems I'm going in the right direction thankfully!
Also received Module 13 and Unit 6 in the post this week though I don't think I'll be ready to send this lot off until the 1st or 2nd week of December!
Re: Module 11 - Dispensing and product formulation
Hi Tarina and Ginny,
I have just finished my calculations paper today and sent it off with my short answer q's and unit 3. now i can focus on module 12 and unit 11, and yes module 12 is huge! i have to have this handed in by 10th jan so no rest over xmas.lol.
any tips for unit 11 would be great had a brief look at it and yes endorsements will be tricky seeing as we dnt do alot etc, but we do mds at our pharmacy and yes who has oxygen anymore. i cant wait until i finish this year.
i dont really see the point of the units, my superviser said we she did it back in 2004 she never had to do all the units because she didnt have to.
Re: Module 11 - Dispensing and product formulation
Module 12 is quite large and takes some time to work through - as does the case study that comes with it.
And Ginny - I have to be organised when it comes to the Units because otherwise I end up misplacing evidence, or forgetting to add something, etc etc. Was even worse when I had to write over 20 reports for one Unit not so long ago!
This Module and Unit is sposedly due in 15th November but due to them sending it a week late and that I've fallen behind a little...I'd say I'm running upto 3 weeks behind at the moment. I cannot wait for for Unit 11 to be over and done with, its been the worst one for me yet.
