Help with Pharmacy Practice Assignment

Hi guys, im new on this forum.
I got this assignment a couple of weeks ago but i dont really understand how to critically evaluate, if anyone could help me out that would be great

this is the question:


Using evidence from literature critically evaluate the concepts of adherence, compliance and concordance, and the impact of monitored dosage systems and compliance aids and medicines use reviews on patients taking their medicines.

i can describe these words, but how am i suppose to critically evaluate them n that using journals?
please help

find research on concordance, adherance and compliance. perhaps look into pts ideas on what they want, do they want to take part in their treatment or would they rather be under strict instruction of the doctor.... which has the best success rate?? then link to how MUR helps with concordance as involves pt and they understand more about their condition etc etc

what is monitored dosage systems? n compliance aids is it things like dosette boxes?
this would improve adherance wouldn't it? does anyone know how and why patients may not improve adherance with compliance aids

Compliance aids are useful for patients who don't take their meds because they forget or get confused.
If they aren't taking their meds for another reason, such as they don't want to or they are suffering side-effects then simply putting the meds in a dosette box will not help, despite what some doctors and nurses think. There is a view that every compliance problem can be solved this way. They can't.

A compliance aid takes away a lot of a patient's independance and they may (often rightly, in my view) resent this.

With psych patients it may make matters worse as if they have symptoms of paranoia they may think you are trying to disguise what the tablets really are and they will simply remove the tablets and dispose of them rather than take them.
