for the blacklisted item i had question set by the person that checks it and the question was how should you endorse a script that includes a blacklisted drug?
answer first check with doctor if wants to prescribe alternative as the item is blacklisted and can not be prescribed i would then cross the item off the prescription and endorse prescription ND not endorsed (COVERS E3i), oxygen one can be covered by the attaching the factsheet at back of unit and on the report i put copy of factsheet as community pharmacys dont do oxygen anymore, if a patient came in to the pharmacy askin for oxygen i would put them in touch with air products or ur local oxygen supplier give the telephone no and say u found this on internet by typing oxygen supplier, (COVERS PC 1,7 RANGE D, AND KNOWLEDGE 3) i deal with dosettes so i just wrote a report about how we set them up and make up the dosette up but if ur really struggling check out venalink and there is a step by step of how to do a cold seal and heat seal pack good luck let me know if need any more help

Tinx - I work in a supermarket pharmacy and so no MDS or dosette boxes etc. However I have finally managed to sit down with my supervising pharmacist and thrash out a Pharmacist Assessment, and he's looked over my other activity reports as well...apart from writing that last one and rearranging another a bit, everything else seems to be fine thankfully, with a tiny bit of tweaking here or there. Aiming to get it finished and sent off by next week, which is just about doable...I think!

Unit 11 help please, has anyone been able to get hold of a script with a black listed item?? or knows how to get around it? this is prob the worse unit yet for me! any help would be great thanks.

Hi i managed to get a dental one where they had put corsodyl, ad obviously they should of put chlorhexadine

Just to let you know the dental ones don't count - I tried submitting a dental one for a black listed item (they had prescribed erythromycin capsules instead of tablets) and it got sent back and I'm having to resubmit the unit on a couple things....that and the MDS part which I had a feeling wasn't going to be enough to get me through.
I hate having to write about things I have little to no knowledge on and writing about what to do with a MDS prescription is frustrating as its not a service our supermarket pharmacy provides, and I doubt ever will. I've gained some information about how to physically fill a dosette box etc, but other things such as how we would get paid for this service, or what to do with MAR sheets still eludes me, and my supervising pharmacist is being more then unhelpful. I've never been so frustrated with a Unit before, and although my pharmacist knows his stuff he is so disinterested in my course I'm beginning to wonder if its worth it and I've another 6 months of this yet :/
