    health and safety

hi all I'm getting there with my health and safety. Has anyone wrote about dispensing of methotrexate and how to reduce the risks? Do you do this for element 4-1 or 4-2? It's so confusing.
    thanks sezza x

another way to reduce risk with methotrexate is to dispense from blister packs as much as possible

I dispensed Methotrexate from blister packs and then explained what I would have done had they been loose tablets. Also make sure that the label states that it is a weekly dose and only to be taken on the day specified. I followed my SOP and stated what could happen if it was taken daily instead of weekly.
    Hope this helps

a lot of shops keep a tablet counter triangle specially for methotrexate. I prefer tipping them into the bottle cap a few at a time, not touching, as the quantities are usually low.
    ....just my opinion

Yes -my variation to bottle top method is to fold a clean scrap of paper in half- open it- tip tablets in - then pour tablets in to bottle with help of the folded groove- Then just chuck the paper!
