    Hi,
I'm a bit further down the line and got to a standstill. It's just getting too much, a lot happaning in my personal and professional life. Still have module 11 and unit whatever with me, submission date was end of May. I'm just about to complete module 12 and unit 11, submission date was end of July. I've been struggling a lot with this. And guess what, the parmacists I ask cannot help. Module 13 is here waiting. Module itself is nothing, but the unit is awful. I won't have enough time until end of August to complete. This is the holdiay season, I don't know how they worked out the submission dates. And I have a new assessor. I was so happy with the first one.
That's all. I think I'm having a nervous breakdown. I just want to get out of it. But I know it would be silly to end it now.
    Good luck with yours.

    Hi alicekk,
Which course are you doing? NPA or Buttercups? I'm doing NPA but mine was split into theory for the first year and knowledge for the 2nd. I did the 1st year on my own cos my pharmacy manager was useless at giving me any time and still is so i know how you feel! I'm currently stuck on unit 4.2 and will only have 2 more units to do til i'm finished (only 2 and a half years late!!!) but it is hard work. I've found that when we've had locums they've been really helpful and i wouldn't worry about the timescale, just give them a ring yourself and explain that it's holiday season etc. and they'll usually give you a decent amount of time to finish.

Keep going and try not to let it get you down, you're not alone!

    Hi Natalie,
thanks for the enouragement. I'm on the NPA training. Mine is the integrated one, so I do the units alonside the modules. Modules are not the problem. The activity reports. And getting the work signed by the pharmacist. Yes, I do agree, locums are a good source of information. It's just a shame the your own pharmacist is not helpful. We had pharmacist students for the summer. They do get help, they are sent off to do training. You can imagine how I feel. Two girls started this course. One gave up after three modules, the other one after a year. She had a good relationship with the weird pharmacist back then and she had a lot of support. When the pharmacist left, she didn't continue with the course. I suppose so far I'm not doing badly. The course had my nerves in completely and I can't wait to finish it. Now I'm going to persevere whatever it takes. I invested so much of my own time. Probably I will fell better when I send off the accumulated three modules and units. I need to put my skates on, because mid-September I'm going on holiday.
You haven't got much to do, keep up the hard work. Is unit 4 health and safety? Let me know if you need any help, I've done that one.
Hopefully at the end it will be worth it. We would get more money at least.

I'm currently rushing to get Unit 5 finished, its already late and to add confusion into the mix, I'm changing branches in 3 weeks time, much to the displeasure of my tutor Pharmacist! Now a little battle for her to sign the last 2 reports, as my "development plan" is now just a pack of lies as I'm changing stores - apparently. Hey ho! Doesn't sound as bad as some peoples experiences!

Hey Tinx, oh no thats a bit hard going. Last thing you need I bet although u never know u might get tonnes of support and more time at this other branch perhaps. How come ur changing branches?? whats unit 5 on? dont worry about the late submission- i rang the npa about one of mine and they were so laid back about it and even said I had no need to ring and just to carry on with the modules in my own time. I guess if your not taking the mick they understand its hard with other work commitments and the like etc etc. Are you stuck on anything or is it the dreaded time issue? Just play pretend regards the development plan- the npa wont know any better and I guess similar principles apply wherever your working - you cant help your circumstances changing mid module Hope you manage to get those reports completed x

Luckily my Pharmacist was more co-operative today, and has signed it off! YAY! Can finally post it! It is purely the time issue, I do 99% of my coursework in my own time anyway, with the 1% being photocopying evidence. I'm changing for two reasons, one, I keep clashing with my team manager (not exactly a "people" person) so am going to work for one who has employed me twice before, and two, I need a change. I've been at my current branch two years and it's driving me mad! I'm still the newbie, so there is more opportunity to take a leading role and possibly move into managementin this other branch. I have rung up about this Unit, and they didnt sound too bothered, am within 2 weeks of the deadline, so compared to colleagues, its not too bad!
    Thanks for your support!
