Hi, I've just qualified as an ACT and find it all a bit daunting. Not sure what the staff expect of me. I know I'm obviously going to do lots of checking but should I be taking on a supervisory role as well? I've worked with other ACT's in the past and they have all been like team leaders as well as checkers, not bossy but helped structure the day. I'm not bossy by nature but would enjoy day to day organising in the dispensary and training of other staff.
I'd be grateful of any feedback. Have any of you worked with ACT's? How do they do the job? What would you expect, improve on?
Very often the ACT is most experienced person present and naturally tends to take charge of day to day running etc. Particularly important in locum run pharmacies.

Yes, when locums are used a lot there definitely needs to be someone taking charge. All the locums we've had have been really good but they don't know our routine so it's important that someone oversees things.
