I'm a student technician in a Hospital Pharmacy that has recently changed from the PILS dispensing system to the JAC system, does anybody know if there is an online document showing quick codes for this dispensing system? Nobody seems to know any of them and its causing a nightmare labelling things!
Most of the places that changed over to JAC, had a list of short codes provided by the JAC reps. I know for sure that Leeds General Infirmary had one when they transferred over in 2002-2003 however I doubt they'd have kept them this long. I'm afraid its been that long since I last used and the codes have all gone out of my head
I work for Whiston hospital and we use JAC - not sure if there is an online code book - but they are all on the system. If when you click on label diretctions there should two big white boxes - one you type your code in and when you press expand it puts the directionsin the bottom box??
Near where it says expand there is a box that when you press it will bring up ALL the codes for you - they are split into categories (dose, time, legth etc) and you can flick through them - that helped me no end when i first started
