Hi Kate
First thing you do when someone gives you a timetable with the NVQ 3 is chuck it in the bin. The basic routine is first year knowledge/theory, second year practical work. Everyone gets behind and some need to request extensions......As long as you are getting some support from your tutor and doing your best, you'll get through. It might help you if you do a time management thing with your weekly routine. You know the sort of thing, working out if maybe you are wasting some valuable study time etc.
Oh i see!!! lol. Brilliant....thanks for your advice. x
Not all courses are 1st year theory/2nd year practical. On my NPA one I receive one Unit (practical) and one Module (theory) every 8 weeks or so, but its hard to keep up, so just do the best you can!
It is hard work, just try to keep slogging at it. That's what I'm doing (which is why I'm on the forum and have done the ironing rather than sitting down with unit 10!).
You should have been given a timetable if you are doning the NPA course. You are wonderful if you can keep to the timetable. I don't bother informing NPA about being late. At the moment I'm sitting on 3 modules and 3 units at once. It does bother me, being late and this holds me back from sitting down and do some studying. It's a vicious circle. Just try to do your best and don't worry. Well, try not to.
If you are really serious about finishing it on time, then you may need to take some of your personal time (evenings/ weekends/ holidays) reserved for reading/ preparing report. If you completely depend on your tutor to help you out in the pharmacy then you will have a tough time finishing it, some may even fail to do it even after extensions. See if you can get your hands on to any other technicians past work, read through them and get aquainted with what is expected and plan according to what suits your current circumstances.
All the best.

Sounds like you're having a tough time. I know it's hard, but if you try to bite the bullet, sit down & do some mabe you'll get over the stress cycle. Easier said than done I know. Hope you're ok.

Thanks guys for the encouragement. I do intend to finish the course on time, I just went through a rough patch in my life and I know that I can only count on myself finding things out even the pharmacist doesn't know. And I do sit down to study, that's how I found this forum and I was hoping to find help here.
I don't really find my way around this forum, but I did have an answer for the out of hours arrangements. Haven't submitted it yet though.
