im struggling help me! with finding job and doing nvq 3.
Hi, ok i am wanting to do a pharmacy technician course but can not find placement any where i mailed pharmacies up to 30miles away. have been called to interviews a few, around 4 but no success. I have pharmacy experience, a-levels, nvq 2 equal course done (pharmacy assistant diploma ) Did get a job in superdrug but due to budget cuts my job was cut after 3 weeks. Im just losing my luck and ways of getting to do the course. I even said on cover letter will fully pay for course, all i require is 14hours per week work paid or unpaid. Some one help me please. Hospitals i've tried wont take unpaid workers and have no jobs going. Mailed pharmacies and have rang a few they say will keep details on file. Had one boots interview wasn't successful now everytime i apply for job i get rejected even before application progress starts i get mail back stating you have been rejected for similar position. Someone help me. I feel all ive done is wasted money, time and energy. I have sent my c.v to all chemists and pharmacy places in hemel hampstead, luton, dunstable, bedford, barton le clay, st albans, stevenage, watford and any near 30miles of Luton. someone give me some advise of what im doing wrong. i will work unpaid just want to complete course which i will fully pay for.

Hi Hijan
Hope you are well. I really felt for ya when I read your post. Job hunting in itself is awful at times but especially when it's something specific that you are looking for. I'm sorry you are having a negative time but please don't give up and don't lose heart. I'd been doing Pharmacy for years but it took me three years to find the right position.....I had to take another job in the meantime till the right one popped up. Maybe this is something you could consider for now. The important thing is to be working even if it's not in the Pharmacy setting just yet. Think about that for a while.
As for getting a student Tech position, they tend to pop up around August/September time for hospital pharmacy. Community do things differently. You have done the hardest and most time consuming thing in doing a full CV drop. Waiting for the results of that may take a while but most pharmacies will keep good CV's for future reference.
Job hunting is hard but if you are doing the following, eventually, you will get a job offer:
Good and eye catching CV, no grammatical or spelling errors
Covering letter
SAE's
Follow up phone calls
When going in person, well dressed, enthusiastic attitude but don't come over as desperate
Sell yourself well but don't go OTT
And be patient.....some jobs can take over a year to materialise
Get someone you know and trust to go over your CV with you and I understand you want to do this course but there's no way you should be working for free AND paying for a course like an NVQ 3...but this is easy for me to say. I'm assuming you've tried Lloyds pharmacies????
Re: im struggling help me! with finding job and doing nvq 3.
hi thank you for your cheering cv. To answer you question, yes tried lloyds pharmacies, independant pharmacies, tesco, asda and sainsburys. also co-op pharmacies and hospital pharmacies that leaves no where else. Im considering another job in meantime any suggestion please. Thank you
