Just starting NVQ 3 Pharmacy Services...... help!!!

Well i am just starting the first 'progression assessment' and i am just wondering how much detail i need to go in to with my answers. I dont want to bore the brains off of my assessor but then i dont want to get the questions wrong. Any advice or help u can suggest for starting the NVQ3 would be great.

    Hi again Kate18!
Sorry, hadn't read this when I replied just now! I've just sent mine off. I'd word precessed it & it was approx 5550 words! So I know what you mean about a lot of information. Even some of the short answers weren't! Just hope I go the right idea. I showed my Pharmacist before sending it off, and for a few bits he said I needed more detail, mainly on bits that I'd assumed was taken as read. So I'd go for it & bore their pants off! Ginny x

Its better to do too much than not enough.....I had that much stuff in the end, I had to physically take my work in two large boxes to my external assessor as there was no other way to get it there. It took her weeks and weeks to mark it all but at least nothing had to be returned and re-submitted as i'd covered everything several times over!!!!

It's the best thing though. Two years of your life isn't that long in the grand scheme of things really and it's such a huge investment in yourself. The more you put into this course, the more you do get out of it. I've only recently just received my NVQ stuff back from the place I did my training and the box was so heavy, we had to put it on a trolley to get the box to the car!!!! When I look at it all i'm glad I did so much extra. It did save some time in the end.....good luck

    Hey Kate,
How you doing? I think you will probably know where you stand regards the workload now judging by the date on your post But thought I would write to you anyway to say hello and if you ever want any help with any aspect of the course I am happy to help, or if you need discuss anything. I am doing the NVQ 3 course at the moment as well.
I will say regards your post that try not to worry to much about the quantity of what your write for your answers to any of your questions. As long as you answer the question and covered every point that answers it then thats fine. Some answers to the questions do seem to drag out a bit (like sometimes my answers to the shorter questions are longer than the case studies haha) but my markers always seemed happy with what I submit, which is reflected in my grades. My marker seems to prefer it when I stick to the point and I know someone else on here said one of her colleagues wrote loads on some of her answers - and her marker put red circles all around the 'waffle' lotsa laughs! I guess it depends but as the old saying goes its not about quantity its about quality
PM me if you ever want any guidance. Krisi
