NVQ 3 - Using work for multiple Units

I'm currently doing the NPA NVQ 3 - now onto Unit 3 - Providing Pharmaceutical Information and Advice

I have a report which I did for Unit 10- OTC Sales & Advice - which covers a lot of the performance criteria. Am I allowed to use it again? As my role has changed and working in the MDS unit as the stock specialist gives limited opportunities to speak to customers!!

I think its ok to "recycle" work. I did....many times and all went well when I put my work in for assessing....

    Hey Tinx,
How you getting on? I am currently on the NVQ3 course and my assessor told me that I could use one of my reports for a future unit. She said all I would need to do is add the relevant performance criteria, ranges and K standards from the future report, to the original report that I have already completed. What you can't do is amend that report because its only valid for so long in terms of when it was signed by your tutor at work. As long as you don't change the report and only add the relevant criteria - yes you can use it again
    Hope this helps

Re: NVQ 3 - Using work for multiple Units

My wife is doing her NVQ level 3. She submitted her unit 10 and got it returned with a letter saying excellent but she can't proceed as she had not attached any "medical counter assistance" course certificate. When she enrolled in the course 4 years ago no one told her of this. Even when the legislation changed (that's what the NPA assessor is telling the RPSGB has made it mandatory) no one had informed her, and no where in the guidance book it is mentioned. Now all her hardwork has gone to dumps as she has not got the certificate. Anyone ??? can you tell me if it is really necessary, please. Is there anyway of getting an exemption?? She is currently on maternity leave and cannot complete the counter assistant course.

    Thanks

    Shan

When I did my NVQ3 which started in 2004 and finished 2006, I did NOT have to include any MCA certificates. I've never heard of this and i'm wondering why they have asked your wife for her certificates. I would give the folk at RPSGB a call when she gets a minute and ask them. There is one thing I should say is that an NVQ3 is usually given two years for completion. I do know that extensions can be requested. If, for some reason, an MCA is suddenly required before finishing the NVQ3, is there perhaps a way her employers' could enrol her quickly so she could get quite a bit done whilst she's on Mat leave??? Just a thought................I hope it works out for her..

If you don't have your MCA certificate you don't do the OTC unit, the NPA make you do two units at the end of the course instead

u use ur mca certificate as evidence for unit 10, it actually states that u have to use it for 1 of the elements and if u havent completed the mca course u have to do it before u finish the course so u can submit unit 10 i had to do that as i was grandparented straight to dispensary
