Question What were pharmacy support staff doing 10 years ago?

I'm researching how the use of pharmacy support staff has changed the pharmacy profession. Wondering if anyone could tell me exactly what were the roles for example 10 years ago? And how are they likely to change in the future?
    Thanks in advance, beth

My mum's a *searches brain for right term* Dispensing Assistant I believe, and ten years ago she was driving around delivering prescriptions, about two years ago the independent pharmacy she worked in was bought by manor and now she's done a buttercups course and her boss wants her to do another so she can be a Technician. I don't know how that compares to other people's experiences though.
