its the same in hospital we have a responsible pharmacist in the dispensary plus one for the whole department. I can work alone but say I need to order an item to be sent to the ward it must have had a clinical check by a pharmacist, same for take home medicines same for stock items. It is not always practical to have a pharmacist actuallly physically present but they still have overall control of what I am allowed to do. Its the same in community if the pharmacist has to leave the premises, they still have responsibility whilst out . Its down to good training and respect for each other job roles.
