Equivalency exams for BSc in Pharmacy from the UK

    Hi,

I hope I am posting in the right section. I have a friend from Iraq who just graduated from the University of Baghdad with a BSc in Pharmacy. She wishes to get the equivalent BSc in Pharmacy from the UK. Can somebody please provide me with the procedure she needs to follow and all the examinations she needs to take. I am aware that most of the universities in the Middle East are not recognised in the UK, so please be specific.

Please note that I come from a completely different field (physics) so provide as much information as possible including websites and recommended universities to contact.

So far I found a lot of information on the Equivalency exam for North America, NAPLEX, but nothing much on the exams for UK except for IELTS (score?).

    Thanks

If she wants to work here she will probably have to do the conversion course which is a post graduate diploma (one year full time). The RPSGB at present considers equivalence have a look at Rpsgb.org: Registration from other countries (RPSGB.org.uk) under the section overseas pharmacists. They say it is a case by case descission so an interview may be required. They need a copy of the transcript and other details and only accept passes at a upper second lewvel or higher if I recall correctly.

You need to do the OSPAP as that degree is not recognised in the UK.
