Talking The Health Act 2006

the long awaited health act 2006 has now been given the royal seal of approval (on the 19/7/06).Nothing much has changed from what I can see...there is lot in there about the responsible pharmacist ...the long shot is this fellow will carry the can for any errors .NO pharmacist can supervise more than one shop (except in exceptional circumstances as prescribed by the health minister). He can supervise from outside the premises if the need arises..but not all tasks can be delegated but robust procedures must be in place
Some p'cists might need to have additional qualifications before they can assume the role of responsible p'cist.. as if 3 A levels+4 years undergrad+pre-reg+ exams is not enough!...........Well in my opinion its a result..not bad at all .....the future is bright the future is orange or should I say green..very green

How about some training at a local post office so we can get used to being sworn at by old people!

Default Re: act in retail pharmacy

I'm currently working as a ACT in a hopital pharmacy and am thinking of moving to retail. Can anybody give me an idea how the pay compares. I know that there is a lot more to a job than the money, but with morgage rates increasing its quite important to me.
Thanks

Cool Re: act in retail pharmacy

Yan

Stay where you are, with agenda for change and the different opportunities you get in hospital/PCT -- ( better career structure and pay!)

The pay gap between Pharmacists and techs/dispensers in community is huge ..at least £12/hour and you might not be given full time hours.

Most techs/dispensers earn btw £5-10/hour in community pharmacy, but in hospital/PCT that can acheive a Band 7 grade max salary £ 36k

Pensions in retail are generally stakeholder and not as good as NHS one.
