NVQ 3 Pharmacy Services

Today saw the NVQ3 questions on law and ethics. I doubt if I would pass!.

How are others getting on?

hi there
just found this site, halfway in doing the Nvq 3 course.

Have found this course very time consuming especially the second part, have sent off my first unit 10 , and had to re do some work and re submit it.
if i can help anyone with the NVq or anything let me know
I'm sure I'll be posting some querstions of my own

It doesn't mean that the holder can actually do the job required of them.

There is no facility or requirement for the trainer to make the declaration that the candidate can actually do the job. It merely shows that various training boxes have been ticked.

on unit 11, and confused about loking for evidence for element 11.3
h out of service payments,any one enlighten me what to use for this.
because then it mentions out of hours payment are they the same or not??

Hi there,

found this element difficult to do myself as we dont offer an out of hours service at our branch. the out of hours payment is for the time of the pharmacist as it would be out of the normal hours of working. I ended up calling our local PCT to find out. They told me we used to have an out of hours service but ended up not being cost effective as ended up costing them more to pay the pharmacist or branch to stay open. Also now there are 100 hour pharmacies, this must be to cover those out of hours as usually they would need the local PCT's permission for opening hours. Best bet is to call your local PCT! Ive just babbled on a bit there so hope that made sense!

I'm probably wrong, but wouldn't the ETP payment count as a service payment from the PCT?

OMG!! I was starting to think I was going mad....I've had the same unit returned to me for the same reason....I've spoken to numerous pharmacists and NOT ONE really knew the answer.....I just put a load of BLAH BLAH BLAH....NHS DIRECT....THAMES DOC..BLAH BLAH...ROTA in the hope they may just get sick of reading and pass it! I have three months and 6 units to finish or have to start again...is it worth it....will I be any better at my job????...will I get paid anymore...I doubt it!
