We are always moaning about cos on this forum. Today I would like to praise a co... Goldshield.
Last week my next door neighbour came to me in some distress. She had just been told for the third time that there was no Diamox for her terminally ill husband as 'mcs'.
I did what I normally do on behalf of pts, 'phoned Goldshield and a very helpful person said that they had emergency stocks and all the local pharmacy had to do was fax a request. Goods would be sent and invoiced through wholesaler. He gave me his number for the pharmacy to 'phone.

My neighbour went that day and was told that this would be done.

Today she returned empty handed and still being told 'mcs'.

I suspected
1) The pharmacy had not bothered to phone Goldshield.
2) The fax had not been sent (Fax in office not dispensary)
3) The items had arrived but used on another script.
4) the item had been dispensed but put in a drawer or on a shelf and no one knew.

Accordingly I rang Goldshield and the person in customer service asked for details and said they would contact the pharmacy on my neighbours behalf.

We await results but in the meantime I would award Goldshield a star for being so helpful.
