Pharmacy Show 2009

Hi folks.

Sorry I haven't been here for a while but I have been extremely busy and feel I should only contribute when I have the time to a)explain thoroughly and b) have time to respond appropriately.

However, last Sunday I was at the black tie dinner for the Pharma awards and was fortunate enough to win one of the categories I entered. My purpose is not to brag about it but to point out that there seemed to be a lot of people who knew who I was and who gave me a really lovely reception. That can only be because of the fact that I contribute here thus getting my name known.

I was sorry I missed the show! What is it exactly about? Is there any chance to meet interesting people? Is is just about recruitment and others trying to sell stuff? I was so sorry I missed it!

Honestly - was it?

Pharmacy needs someone from the sharp end with gritty determination up on the new PRB.
We seem to have gone on the pathway of someone who has done the committees and research.

I won "Specialist Pharmacist of the year" whch I had entered with evidence of my drug misuse work. I, however, was awarded "Pharmacy professional of the year" which I was unaware of. I had actually been celebrating quite hard with a couple of bottles of champagne when I realised I had to collect it and say something.

I got a great reception, which I was completely unprepared for and can only put it down to people knowing me from this site.

It's the first time i've been to the show. I found it useful and very helpful and met some kind folk too. Try and go next year if you get the chance...
