Swine Flu: "UK moves to Treatment Phase" RPSGB

Released today by the RPSGB RPSGB.org: Swine flu

    Extract:

The UK strategy has moved to the treatment phase – treating the increasing numbers affected by swine flu. Contact tracing and prophylaxis in all regions has ceased. GPs will now provide clinical diagnosis of cases rather than awaiting laboratory test results; and Primary Care Organisations (PCOs) will now begin to establish antiviral collection points where necessary. This could be a pharmacy or a community centre.

The RPSGB is being contacted by a number of PCOs to identify pharmacists in their area, as part of their local planning. Although the Register is publicly available, the individual contact details of pharmacists are not. As such, the Society is advising all registrants to contact their local PCO direct to offer their services.

To obtain the contact details of your local PCO please visit the following websites:

already dispensed tamiflu twice, first time forgot to check if Rx was HPA approved second time was a bit more scary as all these diff places kept ringing the pharmacy to ask about different stuff and one of the dispensers nearly caused a riot :P

One of my pharmacies is adjacent a health centre where Tamiflu is being distributed. Of course everyone thought we had it so we were nearly killed in the rush.

Spoke to a GP friend yesterday and 7/10 patients he saw were positively diagnosed as having 'flu.

According to Pharmacy Magazine, the entire population is to be vaccinated, following the death of a "healthy" man from Essex.

Hopefully health workers will be first or second in the queue. I don't usually take time off if I'm under the weather or feverish, but I won't be hesitating at the moment. And let's not forget their wives and family. I won't be working if my wife gets it, either.

I've been advising friends and family to quietly roll ahead with their scripts so that they have a month in hand at home.
Last people they want to mix with are healthcare professionals once the 'flu takes hold.
They are quite sensible folk with medicines and will run down once the wave has passed.

I am working tomorrow, devised this poster to hopefully avoid being coughed over.

    Swine Flu.
If you suspect that you may have Swine Flu.
Do NOT visit your surgery or this pharmacy.
    Contact
    "Pandemic Flu Service"
0800 1513100/200 or "direct.gov.uk\pandemicflu" and then get your "Flu Friend" to visit local Tamiflu Distribution Centre on your behalf.

Here's an interesting take, for conspiracy theorists everywhere...

Journalist Files Charges against WHO and UN for Bioterrorism and Intent to Commit Mass Murder

Briefly, it suggets that the virus was bioengineered and released by certain drug companies who stand to make loadsamoney from the vaccine sales.

I read this news article a few weeks ago.

Even the "tinfoil hat" forums don't believe this one.
