Hi all, this is my first post. Would like to hear from anybody who has succeeded in purchasing their first pharmacy recently- I am trying to do the same- have finance etc in place but am finding it difficult when multiples are paying pharmacy agents to give them exclusive info - and also when they realise you are interested and say to the vendor "anything this person offers, we will up it by 10 grand until they are out of the equation!" A pharmacy I bid for last year was taken by a multiple in this way(yet I had bid 150k over the valued price)- my sister is a patient at the pharmacy and knows the staff well - and since the take over they have had over 50 different pharmacists, some for a day, some for a fortnight, many of whom could not speak sufficient English. Two excellent dispensers have left. Why can't it be like France where standards are very high - and nobody is allowed to own more than one pharmacy? Pharmacies with smaller turnovers don't interest me- more profitable to do locums! Ok I've had my moan about this DAVID AND GOLIATH situation! Anybody any advice/tales to tell?
