You have recently been bombarded with emails regarding the National
Board elections for the new Professional Leadership Body which you may
have already taken note of and cast your vote(s); if you haven’t please
read on.
These will be the most important pharmacy elections in recent times;
they are not the normal run-of-the-mill council elections, they will
form the foundation for the personality and direction of our new
professional body.
It has come to our notice that to-date there has only been a turnout of
15% of the current register that have cast their votes. Such a small
vote spread thinly over such a large number of candidates will result in
the smallest of margins deciding the successful candidates and you can
make a difference by ensuring that your vote will count.
The PDA has gone public in deciding to endorse candidates who have at
the heart of their campaign the determination to stop remote
supervision. They are all able people who have a wide knowledge of
pharmacy, have a vision for the future and are not 'one-issue'
candidates despite what their opponents would have you believe.
We have chosen to endorse them because we believe that they will not
allow our profession to be bullied, threatened or cajoled by the
establishment or the commercial agenda, into diluting patient safety
through the introduction of remote supervision.
Don't let your preferred candidates be defeated by the narrowest of
margins, vote now and encourage your friends and colleagues to do the
same. When you do, we urge you to give strong consideration to our
endorsed candidates whose details you can find by following this link.
