    question

    if a prescription had been written as augmentin tablets 250/125mg rather than co-amoxiclav tablets 250mg/125mg could you dispense this and why ?

    if script is written for co-amoxiclav that is the generic name.augmentin is the brand name.if it is written augmentin then you must give this brand.co-amoxiclav when entered on the pmr cannot be obtaINED AS A GENERIC,AND THE COMPUTER WILL PICK IT AS GIVING AUGMENTIN BRAND AND IF YOU LOOK IN DRUG TARIFF YOU WILL BE PAID FOR PROVIDNG AUGMENTIN.HOPE THIS HELPS.LILLY.CHECK OUT past posts under the advanced search heading,good luck and welcome.lilly.
