isnt there any one who owns a pharmacy or works in one that will take a free worker?

Im beinging to lose all ablity to complete my nvq 3 pharmacy tech year 2 as with no luck its impossible to complete tried everything, i feel i should just leave this course and do something else. I have tried all, i will work for free unpaid, tried hospitals buckingham offered then backed out last moment. tried pharmacies, willing to travel to bedfordshire, hertfordshire, buckinghamshire, northampstonshire anywhere within 40mile radius of luton still nothing what is one to do?
its just unfair and upsetting no help no direction of completed course just waiting is sad. I there no one who owns a pharmacy or knows if their work place will help?

Unfortunately I don't think there is. There would be issues around liability insurance, minimum wage, training costs.
In general I guess if a company needs someone then they will employ someone but if they don't need someone then an extra person is a liability.
(Not your personally but in general)

hi i do understand what you mean, but i contacted the royal pharmacy society and gphs they said that it can be unpaid work because they also said in furture pre-regs are going to have to find work same way it may be most likely they maynot be paid either. i know some pharmacies are busy biut an extra pair of hands does help during busy times and gets the work done faster. also budget costs you arent spending but saving.

If it is raised, say will cover yourself. Need to be able to counter any objection. Standard sales technique, except you are selling yourself. What they are really saying is 'I just can't be bothered' You could try the million pound technique used on ladies.

I understand but its rather unfair given the current status of uk people struggle to find jobs those wanting to study cant how is one to progress in life if no one helps. i know of at least 6 others in similar position as me and cant find even unpaid work. let along paid, what shall they do if they want to provide a better furture and study at their own cost and no one still helps then what do we do? its only upsetting. where shall i turn for help, i have tried all i can no use? i am a willing person, its no wonder people end in debt when no one helps out should we not help one another during this time in our country... debts have overtaken all.

OK, time to get some friends.
    1) see your local MP Was Maggie, but not sure now.
    2) See if Dunstable Gazette? can take up as a feature article on how those who want to work, even for free, cannot do so.
I am sure there is a story here.

Hijan, weren't you working in a pharmacy recently? Back in march of this year? What happened? I realise you've been trying to find a placement off and on since 2009, and still nothing? Surely even in your area if you keep plugging away for that length of time you'll find something in the trade. Is there a reason you keep getting turned down? Have you asked for any feedback from potential employers/placement locations?

hi i was working in march then it got cut short because of some staff relocating, up dating, rules etc.. it was really unfair they cut it short as one due to some problem in area of another multi branch opening just a few feet down and two pharmacies not allowed on same street same side. second problem they were relocating and getting rid of staff as well could keep up with all the staff. third place finding they could not locate close so no place.

no reason for turn down people just dont want to bother helping, keep saying no time or not right now. they are fully staffed. i had a place agree in buckingham hospital went through all the progress of crb check, work check, etc.. since june was due to start in mid october even days worked out. Now just a week ago they backed out said they could not due to over staffed. then another pharmacy agreed then said no because of licence reasons. whats a person to do? clearly im trying all i can with no luck hence reason why thinking of giving up all hope now.
