if ascript is written for co-amoxiclav 250mg/125mg can we dispense augmentin for it.what will we be paid?augmentin is not blaqcklisted.if script was written for augmentin can we dispense this?will we be paid.this is for a dental script,or should the dentist prescibe generically eventhough we would dispense augmentin as we do not get a generic product
These questuions can be answered by looking in the Drug Tariff
If you're working at home on a Sunday evening there's an online version: PPD >> Drug Tariff
You can dispense a brand for a generic but not the other way round.
Payments for drugs are listed in Part VIII
Augmentin is not listed in part XVIIA (The blacklist) if it's written as a brand then the brand price applies.
Dental formulary is part XVIIA the payments are the same as for standard GP scripts.
As well as knowing what about individual products it is more useful to know where the information comes from so that you can apply the rules to any prescription.
thanks for you help! but i shall tell you the whole question.dental script written as co-amoxiclav tablets 250mg/125mg ,if the script had been writte as augmentin 250mg/125mg rather than co-amox could we dispense this and why.i know augmanetin is not in th blacklist.but>>>>>>>>>>>>>> when putting aug 250mg/125mg i t gives you the option to pick augmentin 375mg and not written as 250mg/125mg.which is in the formulary,i know when you add the two together it is the same! or am i looking into it too much, cheers lilly.this post is for LEFT ARM
