    help please! dispenser info???

Hi everyone, I have no experience in pharmacy dispensing but have been offered a job as a dispenser. I have to do buttercups training but I have a few questions...
What sort of things do I have to do as part of this training? do I have homework and if so what sort of homework.
Im panicing as I am not the brightest person and struggle with maths/ all things technical, I left school in 2002 and havent really used my brain since! I think I will really struggle with everything
How long will it take to be qualified? because from what the company i have been offered the job with are saying I need to be qualified in a few months. I have alot going on in my life at the moment and worry I will fail this training and they have said that I need to be qualified asap or I will not be able to employed anymore.
Any other information would be greatly appreciated as I do not have a clue!

Well she must have something going for her as she was offered the job - unless she was the only applicant!

What sort of things do I have to do as part of this training? You'll learn about medicines and their use and actions as well as more mundane things like health and safety etc.
What sort of things do I have to do as part of this training? The course is in modules which will mostly be related to your daily work but there will also be a fair amount of background investigation that you will need to do. This is likely to require some of your own time to do.
I think the course is two years.

There's a buttercups trainer that posts on here and will probably give better answers.

    Hi Lucybeth2010

Firstly let me take this opportunity to welcome you to the Buttercups course. We are a friendly team who are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via our helpline. The number is 0115 9374936. You may also email any concerns or questions to training@buttercups.co.uk

The course consists of 12 modules, each of which has a short multiple choice test and a corresponding workbook. You'll need to send in your test answers and workbook declarations via post or email to Buttercups, or submit them online via Buttercups e-learning system. I'd like to reassure you that everything you need to pass the test is contained within the course module document. If you come to a topic that you would like further help with, please call Buttercups on the number above and one of our Pharmacists will happily assist you.

To give you a preview, here are the 12 modules you'll study:

Module 01: Working in the Pharmacy Team

Hiya I'm doing buttercups too. Its well worth doing if you REALLY want to do dispensing as a career, but be aware there is a huge amount of study to complete in the two year course, the vast majority may have to be done in your own time, depending on how much time and support you get at work. Not all bad news tho, as when you start completing your modules and your hard work is rewarded, and your knowledge increases it gives you a great buzz!!
