    Delivery Service - Advice Needed

Hi, I want to add a prescription delivery service to my current delivery business. I would go to the Pharmacy and collect fulfilled prescriptions, and deliver straight to the customers. Would I just need a signed form from the patient giving me authorisation? And would I be able to collect multiple fulfilled prescriptions in one go so I don't have to keep going back to the pharmacy after each delivery?

Presume you will want to charge for this service? Many pharmacies pay 60p per bag delivered. May need a CRB check.

Just 60p. How many would you be likely to deliver each day? And would this just be to the elderly and housebound? Would you be able to charge the customer if it was just inconvenient for them to pop in and collect the drugs for themselves? ie. they work 9-5 and the pharmacy closes at 5.30, so an evening delivery would suit them

You will have to get used to the fact that NHS patients expect to pay nothing for any service.

as a business model this has it's possible problems -

    things that spring to mind.....

    1. would patients/reps be prepared to pay for such a service when the vast majority of them can have this done FOC?

    2. what about security? eg you've collected medication from pharmacy just before they close & go out to deliver BUT some patient's aren't in or won't answer the door... then what happens with meds over night? safe storage - where?

    3. is there sufficient demand for this? canvass some opinions - pharmacies, patient's - does it add up? is it to be linked in with other deliveries eg groceries?

    regards
