Eye ointments are to be discarded after a month. I would have dispensed as you did.

Nowadays I would also just give out one tube, but I would say to the patient that if they ran out during the month they should bring the tube back and I would sort them out with another one (and amend the records and the price accordingly).

Presuming no quantity specified. If hospital script probably said 1/12.

As long as no quantity specified. If all eye ointments discarded one month after manufacture, would be none!.

As Xalatan 2.5ml reckoned to be sufficient for a month and as BNF says 20 drops per mil. 10ml/grm at 200 doses should be more than enough.

where does the BNF state that? I searched for information similar to that at the time, could not find it
