This is a strange question as I was not aware that tacrolimus was available as tablets.
The ointments are licenced for short term treatment of moderate to severe eczema and flare-ups when steroids are not appropriate. Both strengths are used twice a day and for treatment use should be limited to 3 weeks (so total amount would be in the 60-120G region approx) but for prevention of flare-ups it can be used for up to a year.
Either way you start with the 0.1% ointment and reduce to the 0.03% and reduce frequency of use to once daily as soon as the response permits.
Does anyone know of any national guidance relating to the use of tacrolimus in liver transplant patients? There seems to be NICE guidance regarding renal transplantation but none about liver
