    Internet company and shipping regulations

Hi there, I am new so bear with me if I am in the wrong forum entirely.

I do some consultancy work for US company that sells vitamins and supplements on the internet. They use a compayn/warehouse in the UK to despatch their orders. However, on a few occasions (very few I might add) one or two of the vitamins have actually been identified as a medicine.

In order not to have the UK business closed down, I have been asked to find a way of making the UK warehouse compliant ie ... make sure it never imports a medicine into the UK and also to have the 4/500 products already on the premises checked to make sure they are also not medicines.

I can get a COA for every product in the warehouse, but I need to find someone with a proper pharmaceutical background to go through every product with me.

Does anyone here have any idea how I would go about this?

    thank you

Are you a pharmacist yourself? I believe I can help, where is the warehouse based?

Hi there, thank you for the reply.

Firstly, no, I am not a pharmacist, which is why I need the help of someone who is.

The warehouse is in Glasgow, however this is not necessarily important as I can get all the information to you by email, and I can obviously also travel (or you can travel to us).

This is initially a large project with 4/500 products, but once this is done, then it will only be a matter of checking any new products that the American company put on their website (plus a little bit of monitoring of the 4/500 products in case there is a change in regulation at any point).

Realistically none of the 4/500 products should be a medicine ..... which is actually the idea of the warehouse. But we have to get expert advice to ensure that this is the case which is where you would be able to help.

Sounds a bit mad I know ... asking a pharmacist to check that our product range is NOT a medicine

No, its not mad it makes perfect sense, its pretty much a pharmacists speciallity, legal classifications of medicines and their licenses. I have a bit of experience in this area, as I worked closely with a company which dealt with imports of herbal remedies and supplements from the EU.

In reference to your post what does 4/500 mean? Is it 4,500 products?

Id rather use email, Ill try to PM you...
