    CPD if not working?

At the moment, it is very hard for me to get work, and the deadline for CPD is 1st March, so I'm running out of time!!! I have about 2 listed so far, but they're just about doing some structured reading. However, unless I am out practising, and actually doing things in the pharmacy, its hard for me to write a CPD entry. Someone once mentioned to me about some website where you do online quizzes, or something along those lines, and you then use that generated certificate and activity as your CPD. But I cannot even find anything like this anywhere.

You could try the mypharmassist webiste - that has some modules that you can work through then complete an assesment at the end. Or if you have access to the CPPE website some of their modules are web based. Not sure if the Actavis Academy also runs a modules system - might be worth having a look.

I have applied to the mypharmassist, and they are really slow in creating my account. I am also not allowed to create an account on CPPE for some reason. so the only one I have found is this
    Update - Chemist + Druggist

But are we allowed to use this for our CPD? I am aware that we receive some sort of certificate for each module we complete, but how do we incorporate this into our CPD records in uptodate.org.uk? Or do we have to write it in as an actual entry?

As far as i know, you need an English post code for CPPE. They won't accept Scottish, Welsh or NI ones.

The problem with CPD whilst not working is that you can do lots of worthwhile learning activities e.g. CPD articles from C&D, CPPE, PJOnline etc. but the CPD entry requires you to state in what way they impact your practice. This has been an issue for me even when working e.g. A while ago my local branch invited an expert speaker to talk about drugs and banned substances in sport. It was interesting and I learned a lot - but I have never been asked about this in the shops I work in - so can I record it? or was it worthless?

That's the problem with the CPD recording.
I just put that "I have not had the opportunity to put the knowledge to good use yet".

Sometimes I find that it takes longer to 'cook up' a good CPD record than it does to read and understand the CPD.

Most of us are very factual people. It took me quite a while to learn how to use"PCT talk". Now I quite enjoy "bigging" everything up.

Its rubbing off on my everyday practice.
Instead of ordering something from a supplier for a customer we, "Source the product for them from a specialist pharmaceutical supplier".
    A delivery is; "Stock replenishment".

    Have fun?

I am in a similar situation. I currently live overseas and have loads of time for CPD (which I didn't have when I was working) but I'm worried that when my record is called for review it won't be accepted as I've not been able to put anything into practice.

My advice is do it and record it.
If you can't put it into practice just state that!

So far I have been unable to fill in the whole 'circular thing' starting at reflection.
Most of it is prompted by PJ or C&D articles, what patients, customers, staff, GP, friends and family ask.
What crops up in the emails from MHRA, new product notifications etc etc.
One thing leads to another - that's how it all works for me.
Not sure if that is reactive CPD, how could you read up on the license being suspended for Sibutramine before the event?
Also, can end up on some pretty random topics, unrelated to the original question!
