Help!!! need advice on what to do to get involved in pharmacology!!
Hi,
as this is my first post on this forum I would just like to say I am a 19 year old male who is in the first year of studying Sport and exercise sciences at Birmingham University...
I have been researching around the area and would like to know if it would be possible for me to do a Masters in pharmacology in order to get into the field? or would you advise a PHD ? I am very ignorant on the subject of where to go next, however I am certain I would like to pursue a career in pharmacy.
I will finish university at the age of 22, however I am worried that my A-levels may prevent me from getting into pharmacy as i did History, english and Religous studies gaining AAA. or would a good degree in Sport science (encomasing biochemistry, physiology etc) be a starting point.
Any advice is welcome, I need all the help I can get!

Regret you will need A level Chemistry and Biology to enter pharmacy. These could be done at evening class. However, you will have to fund yourself as grants usually only for first degree. Perhaps you could consider combining sport with English or Biology so that you can offer two areas of interest to prospective schools. Your story perfectly illustrates what I have been saying on this forum for a long time, unless you are wealthy, you need to study a course with a definite career at the end of it. If you are good at Rugby and Cricket and went to the 'right' school, then the diplomatic service, or finance may be possible.
