Kaolin and morphine

Hi we are going to Egypt with 21mth old twins and a friend took kaolin and morphine everyday and did not get an upset stomach whereas the people they travelled with didnt take it and they had upset stomachs, my question is is it ok for my twins to take this and I am more concerned about them with upset tummies than myself or is there any other recommendations for meds. Many thanks.

Kaolin and Morphine rarely stocked these days because of addiction. Check on fitfortravelsite and I believe you will find that for young children only rehydration advised.
Every hotel will have bottled water, salt and sugar. Teaspoonful of sugar and pinch of salt to glass of water, or buy the rehydration salts.

To keep it at bay, I suggest eat a lot of live yoghurt every day, and only use bottled water, even for cleaning your teeth.

No ice in drinks, either, and ice-cream can be dodgy.

Its not that Egyptian food and water is necessarily any less hygienic than ours, (I've no idea,) but the germs are different, so you can get diarrhoea while your body acclimatises to the local germs.

If this is the case, you will get a bit of an attack when you return home, as well, for the same reason.

Bad idea taking any morphine product through international borders/customs!!!! Don't do it!!

I have been to Egypt three times and have never been ill. I always use the ice (who wants a warm drink in Egypt!) and swam in the pool etc.

I have eaten at Egyptian food places, but always get a piping hot meal.

I have eaten plenty of icecream there, smoked a hubbly bubbly, and been diving!

I would advise going to a 5 star place though. Having said that I did once stay in a place that was £3 per room per night, breakfast cost me 50p and it was great.

I have also been in King Tut's tomb but I can't remember eating anything there......lol

I always take my pain killers - paracetamol/dihydrocodeine/meloxicam on the last trip. I have never had any problems with this.

My husband was offered a million camels for me once - I think they were doing a pound for pound kind of thing. He said he couldn't get them all in his suitcase.

I always drink bottled water only - even for brushing my teeth. I always take with me dioralyte and loperamide, but usually only take the dioralyte for hangovers/exceessive sweating - it gets very hot there.
