If the child is "Fraser competent", yes.
by emergency supply at request of pateint it really means "the patient or their legal guardian", so for a child it is ok for a parent to ask for an emergency supply for their child.
I once supplied the father of a highly mentally disabled patient, who also suffered from epilepsy with an anti-epileptic as an emergency supply, because at the time I couldn't see why anyone would prposecute me for trying to help such a patient.
What might complicate things is an adult carer/relative asking for an emergency supply for a housbound patient, in which case professional judgement should be used to determine if the carer has full reponsibility for the welfare of that patient, although all a pharmacist really need to do to comply with the "patient's request" part is to talk to the "patient" on the phone, and supply their representative with the medication. I don't think it says any where the person requesting should collect the medicines personally.
