Exclamation Issue regarding EU Pharmacists working restriction in new pharmacies

With regard to current legislation prohibiting EU Pharmacists qualified in Europe from working in new pharmacies open for less than three years, I thought it may be helpful to know that a petition lodged at the EU parliament on 05 january 2009 (petition 006/2009) by Taga Fosso (EU Pharmacist registered on 05 October 1998) against the UK for discrimination has now been posted on the Internet by the EU parliament.

Beside, an application lodged in the High Court in this respect by Taga Fosso will be heard on the 14th October 2009.

they will only be happy once they take over everything.......... 99% of the cake is not enough, it must be 100%, when only one piece of cake should be available. i say leave the EU and teach Mr Fosso a lesson to be very very very greedy! or just enforce UK border agency to test the english language of each member of the state willing to relocate and WORK in the uk.
i assume it is you, Mr Fosso. would you be gentle enough to answer some questions and enter a conversation, without threatening to take me to court. please bear in your mind i am not english myself...

I doubt Mr Fosso will procure much gainful employment in the UK now his intentions have been made public on this forum...He probably has every right to attempt to worm his way into the UK by this route, but it's a pretty bloody stupid decision to publicise it.

Hear Hear Raoul..How many UK qualified pharmacists are taking out legal injunctions within parasitic european nations in order to be allowed to practice there? I assume none.

I never expected "Pharmacy Forum" to be a swearing place. Anyway, as a Responsible and mature person, I reserve further comment. Period.

    What? "Bloody" ?

Actually this comes from a medieval oath "Blindme if I'm not telling the truth" or some such.

I do wonder if its good for some of us to use the internet at all!
And please don't turn on the TV or radio, or use public transport.
Or go to the BPC conference, actually.
    ....just my opinion

Re: Issue regarding EU Pharmacists working restriction in new pharmacies

Could someone tell me what is the difference between new pharmacies open for less than three years and more than 3 years?

Raoul: as you prbably know, i'm EU pharmacist. I got registered 3 years ago and I had to go to University of Bath to take english exam in order to get a job.
RPSGB in theory does not test language skills, but they ask employers to perform that.

I've met quiet a few pharmacists from Africa and neither I nor british could fully understand what they saying...

The English test some of the EU pharmacists are required to sit by their employers is the general IELTS not the academic and they need to get a quiet low mark in total (I am not sure what you need to get!! is it 6?) compared to the OSPAP students who must get at least 7 out of 9 in each band at one sitting (there are 4 bands) in the academic section of IELTS and a total of 7 or 7.5. The academic is much harder than the general section, also getting at least 7 in each band in one sitting is not easy. It's easier to get the required total but not a specific mark in each band.
