Re: Issue regarding EU Pharmacists working restriction in new pharmacies
I'm far too dim to understand these things but I thought the idea behind the restrictions was to provide (for the benefit of the large commercial interests and the DoH by keeping down costs) a plentiful supply of cheap foreign labour while preventing "Johnny Foreigner" from opening his own pharmacy or helping anybody else to run a 100 hour one.
Re: Issue regarding EU Pharmacists working restriction in new pharmacies
Good Day Fellas,
I have nothing against EU pharmacists coming here to work, however I do think that the society is doing very little to serve the interests of those that studied and trained here. I dont really know what pharmacy in other european countries is like, but I believe that standards set here are high. In other to maintain these standards, european pharmacists who havent studied here in the UK and wishing to practice should be required to do the pre-reg year pass the exam before being allowed to work. This currently applies to non-eu pharmacists, but in my opinion should apply to ALL non-uk pharmacists.
With New Pharmacy schools opening & companies recruiting outside the UK thus driving pay rates down......lets see what the future holds

Quite agree, case of Dr Urbani who killed a pt with 100mg diamorphine illustrates the folly of EU political correctness.
With regard to pay rates, we do have a minimum wage!
