    Few questions about MUR

    Dear all,

I am not qualified yet but I have a few questions that come across my mind about MUR.

    1. Most of the time it is easy to identify patients using long term medications for chronic conditions, however MURs could be conducted for specific/target patient groups such as asthma MUR. I have tried google the specific patient group online but I don't see there is much information about this. I wonder if anyone of you have any other source of information for this? Are you having difficulty identifying specific patient groups for MUR too?

    2. Quite often a MUR is conducted in a designated area without chaperone, in that case pharmacist could bear with risk of violence. I wonder if your company has provided some measures to prevent this problem and have certain measures such as panic button/alarm in the room? Or just simply a glass door at the shopfloor? I wonder if there is any advanced measure your company has taken?

    3. Apart from the fact that keeping record for 2 years, is it a legal requirement to send a copy of the whole MUR form to the GP after MUR even if there is no recommendation made?

    Thank you.

    Will certainly appreciate your response.

    Hi Strawberry

This link was posted here a few months ago and has some MUR examples for specific patient groups. Medicines use reviews - an online resource for pharmacists

The group I work for has frosted glass doors.

I the new paperwork includes a summary for the doctor that lists patients that have had an MUR but with no recommendations made rather than sending the whole form for each patient.
