So reduce prescribed quantity. Senna, no compliance problem but advice on fibre intake and fluid intake etc.

Hope it is the same case for you. I did not play the video, instead I went through the transcript that way it is easier to find out what the conversation was with regards to each drug.

    All the best.

Hey, thats good. Beware CPPE is very cheeky. They do change either the question or the whole case. Hope you get the same case and all the best.

LOL. All this seems very familiar to when I had to do the assessment back when MUR's came out. My major national pharmacy/bank chain were paying for us to do the Medway MUR course. That really seemed like to much hard work, so mistakingly I thought that the CPPE one would be a walk in the park!!!!

I failed the second part enough times to be sent back to do part 1 again. Could never see where I was going wrong. Emailed CPPE about the stupid 'wait seven days to retry' and they just gave the old 'its seven days to let you reflect on where you went wrong' - I did email back and ask them why that was necessary as seeing as no feedback was given or where you actually went wrong, how could you reflect on that?

Then mistakingly tried section one late on a Saturday evening after one too many fine real ales. Timed out on last question, so automatic fail!!!

Then tried again, section one fine - section two - questions seemed to be the same, and try as I might to change some, my answers were exactly the same as I had previously answered. Yet - this time - pass! Sections three and four were very simple.

So keep at it. I found common sense more useful than service specification.

    Good Luck!!!!

I also remember doing the assessment with a colleague at his house who had failed section 2 and had asked me to help with my wisdom (fool!!!). We were right at the end of section two when his broadband connection dropped!!!!

I think I was rolling on the floor in tears, whilst he was swearing and hitting the computer. And when I told him he would have to wait another week to try again, he was incandescent with rage!!!! Cue a strongly worded email to CPPE - which wasn't probably a good idea in his state of mind.

thanks, can you remember any questions which they tried to catch you out on as i have no clue where i am going wrong. im just wondering if there is a confused patient, then i wouldnt be able to perform an mur on them as they would be confused and not able to give consent, is this true.

I would say a confused patient would be ideal, as the MUR might be able to sort out their confusion?

Anyway, the powers that be at Natwest Pharmacy would probably say that as long as the patient can put their signature on the form, then that's fine. (even if you have to put the pen in their hand and move their arm for them).

No. You just have to inform the GP which of their patients have had an MUR so that they can request a copy of the MUR if they wish. That is for patients who have no GP action points. If there are any action points for GP then obviously they will be getting a copy of the MUR anyway.
