If any of you need a CRB of any level...
We will happily apply on your behalf. As an AGY we do them at various levels for myriad reasons. If you need a basic or enhanced we'll be happy to apply for you. We can directly process basic and enhanced but remember there can be hold-ups on enhanced. What level are you required to undertake?

So any of you interested in our 3rd party MUR project? The "in-house" will be our main aim initially. However, I'd be interested to know how long it takes the PCT to respond to a request for "externals". Please correct me if I'm wrong but you apply for the "ok" per address? I do expect to be handling "residential home" visits too and believe that you only get the higher rate for the 1st client - is that right or am I miss interpreting the rules? I can see how it would be really lucrative for the pharmacy and Pharmacist to do Dom/Pvt addresses though the logistics could be hairy from my perspective...

Re: mur skills for the future

Just have a look and gv me some feedback whether it makes sense or not?

White paper aspiration (2008):LTC=3/4 th of the medicines are used by the people who are in Long term condition.Eg: asthma, stroke, heart problem. AGING POPULATION=aging popultion increasing within 2029 it will be 50% over 85 yrs.
MEDICINE RELATED HARM=Errors can occur at any stage from prescribing and dispensing . Harm can also occur in the absence of error for an instace ADR.

New Pharmacy Contract 2005: MUR service introduced as a part of advance service of the new pharmacy contract in England.MURs are structured, concordance cententered reviews with patients recieving medicines for long term conditions to establish a picture of thier use of medicines, both prescribed and non prescribed medicines.

    Defination Of MUR:
Medicine use review is the way to make better understanding of medicines.
    Making patients more compliant
    Reducing medinicne wastage.

    Barriers Of MUR:
Comapany emphasise on Quantity rather than quality
    Gp disengagement
    Lacking Confidence
    Time.

To meet the challenge set by White paper MUR can help a lot.To provide the Services Pharmacist need to have accreditation . Alredy there are few places for accreditation and assesment . But to meet the challenge more pharmacist are requried to undertake MUR and more education is required to provide the service effeiciently.

Also hospital pharmacist showed thier excellence as Medincine Expert for last 20 years . With the current drive to move health care services from hospital to community more Pharmcist need to be trained and competent .

These are the reason why they need education?
