yes. we aren't super machines capable of doing everything...it can be at the pharmacists discretion, there may be some items the pharmacist may want to hand out themselves due to the nature of the item or certain counselling points they want to express to the customer!

i think soemtimes we take on too amny tasks single handedly, and then moan we don't get the support...surely thats what other people in the shop are there for..to help out?!?!?!?

Scripts get handed out by whoever's on the front..... patients are asked if any questions, if so they are refered to pharmacist; things I want to discuss are flagged with stickers or held back in the first place. I'm only 4 feet away from the desk in the dispensary anyway so there's no trouble intervening in things or patients seeing I'm available.

Yes, the straightforward handouts are OK.
If the person wants to speak to 'the pharmacist' I'm right here.
Lots of notes on bags, eg is patient expecting increase in ramipril from 2.5 to 5mg daily?
And anything else you notice on PMR that needs a word or two.

If you are a locum and the regular pharmacist normally takes the scripts out him/herself you can expect a bit of 'reaction'... even though staff hands out the bags off the shelf when customer comes to collect...
