It does benefit the company. More express dispensing more new customers, more business But what they do not understand is, slower and accurate dispensing is safe and long term. Also if you can make the patient wait for a while and ask them to shop around meanwhile, you can increase your OTC sales What say ??

Yeah sort of goes with out saying that it benefits the company, I was more referring to the troops on the ground floor and the patients.

And they wonder why many dispensers prefer to "hide" out the back...

Exactly illustrated by the BTC video which I still have on my computer. Unfortunately, the video shows the norm rather than the exception.
No wonder I was welcomed with open arms when I said I was a front man and preferred to be out front. I did notice that one of the other pharmacists stood at the back where he could observe both counter and front bench. Unfortunately, I got bored with this and liked to 'dive in'.

Now its all Key Performance Indicators and if you can cope with the increased workload with less staff by compensating for it by voluntarily working extra (unpaid) HO will let you.
There's a reason for the less staff and if you volunteer your time to be on top of things then HO will find reason to further reduce staffing levels. I've worked in many pharmacies and can tell this voluntary over time is a common occurrence

One of the Boots stores where I regularly do relief work was originally Alliance, the dispensary is on a raised platform. It makes an instant difference, not only are you not being stared at 2 feet away or being breathed on, people suddenly are more willing to wait. Amazing what a few inches can do.

    Boots and design,,,,,,,,,

reminds me of that scene from the matrix,, so Neo you think this is air you are breathing,,,,,,

Boots stores are incredible at liberating disposible income from patrons, a lot of incredible talents in this sector came through the "process" and not only thrived but excelled in the afterlife, but innovative Pharmacy design is not the foremost aspect of the company that springs to my mind sadly.
