    Simple Question

On a day last week, I checked over 630 items on top of signing 37 addicts out of the methadone register. It was a ten hour shift and by the end up I was mentally and physically exhausted. I ask the simple question, how much is too much for one human being to deal with?

but i bet you got paid a nice hourly sum for doing all of that????

but in all honesty it does sound like a fair bit of work for 1 person!

I bet culchie82 got paid standard rate.. It's a lot, unless the staff is really organized. I used to work in busy pharmacies so I know how it feels... It kills completely if you got someone incompetent at the front and you hear 20 times a day: 'can this lady/gentleman have a word with you'..

so i'm guessing you won't be going back to that pharmacy in a rush then.......it would be enough to put me off from doing a locum or even working in community!!!

Yes, if they can wait - I will see them after I have checked the scripts for the people who are already waiting. Could be a while in some cases!

We have laminated 'Patient waiting to see Pharmacist' cards. Just put them in the queue with all the other Rx's. Job done

We do that (but not laminated). It's really the only way in a script factory.

Excellent idea. However, people expect to be able to see the pharmacist instantly. This would stop the arguments.

They do - but they shouldn't. They should expect to wait their turn.
