    RPSGB employed by doctors?

Sometimes in practice I feel as if our professional body is employed by Doctors to be useless and to always ensure that doctors get what they want!

What happened to vascular screening in the white paper? This was supposed to be done by pharmacists but what happened? Some PCTs felt obliged to offer them to doctors first and surprise surprise the greedy GPs despite being overwhelmed with workload (waiting times for appointments reaching a month in some areas) still couldn't say no and welcomed the extra cash with open arms.

Guess who's got the reputation to be greedy and money orientated in the community? let me make it easier, it's not the GPs......???

Where was the RPSGB? probably making sure that GPs got it

One of the reasons why we need to stick to our core repsonsibility.
Making sure that patients get the right medicine.
However, we do this quietly in the background so most of the population are seldom aware of what is happening.
That's what the RPSGB, PSNC etc need to make a grand fuss about.
Where am I?; In the Pharmacy.
Who are you?; The new Number 2.
Who is number 1?; You are number 6.
    What do you want?;..................

Aye, sod all the extras and new services they keep coming up for us to do at little or no cost to them - we should be shouting far more loudly at what we ALREADY do for the rest of the healthcare team and more importantly what we do for our patients!

Article by David Pruce on the news.
BBC News - Pharmacists need better technology

    Build on that everyone.
Our core role should be emphasised just like the medics emphasise patient care.
    Our emphasis is Patient Safety.
