so sick of targets: targets for MURs, MPCs,PCS etc etc
what's it all about?
getting bullied by managers to achieve all these targets,constantly on our case.
WE ARE ALL PROFESSIONALS TRYING TO DO A GOOD JOB AND TRYING TO PROVIDE A GOOD SERVICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS but none of that matters when we have to reach our targets!
Just needed to get that off my chest,feel better now!

Targets have to be agreed and realistic.
Too high and they are counter productive to motivation.
My view is that we are trying old-style outdated British 'motivate by fear' management. Lets try some modern techniques!

Worse is they keep you in the dark as far as targets are concerned then they sprung up on you several months down the line how your bonus works, and if you've failed so far you either put twice the effort in (for a few weeks) or you just give up... How's that supposed to keep you going?

Been there, done that, missed the target.
For my part, I can't work out why HO start to think that their workforce need to be 'herded' all the time.
There isn't a minute in the day to be lazy.

They treat them like sheep, unable to think for themselves, unable to right themselves if they fall over, constantly needing to be herded by the sheepdog (HO) snapping at their heels.
