    Moaning about Named Companies

I don't know if you are up to speed on what has been happening in the wide world of employee relations, but a year or so ago a major company gained access to the Facebook group that was dedicated to moans about that company, and several people got into big trouble.

Lately there has been some evidence that people are going on this forum and PMing others to ask them about the companies they work for, encouraging them to be indiscreet, then revealing themselves for who they really are. Trouble results.

If you receive a PM from any member of this forum asking about the company you work for, where you work, how old you are, etc etc, please treat it with suspicion unless it is a long-standing member of the forum that you can trust. Quote it in a PM to a moderator, and we will find out who the member is and take some kind of appropriate action.

Alternatively, if you want to say anything on the forum that you feel might be held against you, you can do what an enterprising member did and set up another identity just to have their say on that issue, which will then be kept secret from any identifying information they have disclosed on here or, using the same nickname, elsewhere. Or, you can PM me and I'll edit it and post it as anonymous gossip received.

Have they nothing better to do? People complaining about their employers goes back to biblical times. Remember the workers in the vineyard? Their blogs would have been interesting, and pretty similair to what you read here.

That said it is always wise to be discreet when you don't know who you are talking to. Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

following threads like this and facebook has become a very popluar means of keeping tabs on staff - just be careful with what you say and where you say it.. probably having two identities is the best option. I know of a few people who have been caught out..
