    Not good to moan

moaning in moderation is fine, but imagine if someone moaned in your face every day almost constantly saying 'ive had of this place' or 'you know, i hate this shithole'.

It would prob get to a point where one day you would just snap and say 'woman i dont carr, we're all fed up and busy but the rest of us just try and get on with it, if you dont like it here leave!"

The other thing is there also those people that once they find out what gets you worked up, they then deliberately use this to wind you up. For example there was this lady I worked with who would ask me questions like what do i with this and how do i do this, then after id explain to her how to do it or where to put it she would then get all defensive, stare at me and say 'well im only asking you!' which is kind of confusing because I only answered the question asked. Thing is she knows that winds me up a bit.

Watch out for those who moan for the sake of moaning, there life would be totally meaningless if they did not moan about something that day.

The other thing is moaning when there is no need to whatsoever like for example I got reported to our regional operational manager for using Quinine sulphate instead of Quinine Bisulphate. Its hardly a serious mistake. I did make one other mistake that day but come on it does not warrant that. All I heard was that the pharmacist absolutely furious about it and told all the staff I made four mistakes with one patient, whereas when I questioned her she only pointed out one to me.

Then the other day the counter assistant came to me and said 'this tub of paracetamol was found by us and we need to use it up', to which i replied 'I know' because i already checked the exp date. She then threw a big strop, said ''Well if you know then why should i even bother?' then stormed out the room. Not that this worked me up but it just left me thinking 'was it something i said?' if it was then which word caused the offence the 'I' or the 'Know'?

Its the old story, laugh and the world laughs with you. cry and you cry alone.

I could never work in such an atmosphere and do have the advantage that I can pick and choose where to work.

Bide your time, smile sweetly, say thankyou, and count the weeks til you qualify and can get out.

I have been known to use earplugs (saying I have a little earache, which is not too far from the truth)
    ....just my opinion

That also sounds like my workplace and I'm leaving - there's only so much you can put up with and there is no room for pettiness and silly squabbles in pharmacy when there are far more serious/important things to deal with. It's worse than dealing with children who at least will learn and improve their behaviour - adults don't do that. There are some who can't live and breathe unless they moan and concern themselves with what other staff are doing or try to undermine others.
I'm sick of such small minded behaviour.
    **phew!.....I needed to vent that**

    Re: Not good to moan

Where I work we are always moaning about something or other but we do it in such a light hearted manner it's funny, more of a laugh and joke to all of us. Personality clashes happen in all jobs and learning to adapt I have found is the key. When I was told that an afternoon member of staff was transferring to my shift I felt for sure we were going to clash, and said so at the time, but I have adapted to her quirks and we are good friends now. I guess she wasn't enamoured at working with me either, she had been told such bad things about me, all of which she has told me about and agreed they were all untrue, apart from my attitude of if a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well.
    Make some one smile today.

Oh dear that all sounds very familiar to me Id like to say ive been able to rise above it all but truth is its very hard to ignore someone who moans soo much! I think the trick is not to make my mistake and agree with someone like that just to shut them up or you end up with " and he agrees " or " he said this and he said that ". Confrontation is never pleasant with these sorts of people but ive found that sometimes it helps to clear the air thats my two pennies anyway
