Trust me there are loads of English( white English) who do not know how to spell or write! i am sure you encountered some while locuming at different pharmaciesthe society is broken, education is a current problem, the public are becoming lazier with time( thanks to the labour FREE-BENEFITS-FOR-ALL party that kept 10000s at home rather than at work).
to edit my earlier post; the problem comes from immigrants not willing to integrate, and lazy Brits who want it all for free.![]()
yes, but not amongst the staff, and certainly not the pharmacists, and that's what I want to bring out.there are loads of English( white English) who do not know how to spell or write! i am sure you encountered some while locuming at different pharmacies
Truei understand your point
All summed up by 'when in Rome, do as the romans do'.
Trevor Phillips has stated that doctrine of multiculturalism has lead to strife rather than peace.
I remember being horrified by the intrusive photo flashing by tourists in Thailand temples during services.

I would have thought that a good command of the English language would be paramount for doctors, nurses, pharmacists or for any one who has to deal with the general public. Good communication can be a problem for those of us who have English as their first language, sadly, I feel, it's not a skill taught. Perhaps raphelp it's this you need to brush up on.
We can never stop improving ourselves for the better.
yeah they also need to follow MJ and change their skin colour........ get real boy.... no one has to FORGET their language, but everyone has to learn english.
do not misunderstand what was stated. I said you need to have sufficient commandof the english language to enable you to do your work effectively. If you do not speak english out side of work then thats not my concern. Also if you worked in a sweet shop in a largely ethnic minority area then it would not be an issue.
Its just that the society lays out these competencies for the pharmacist and thus they should apply to all. If youre from abroad and communicate effectively in english then sorry according to the society, not me!, you shouldnt be allowed to work as a pharmacist. Dont get it wrong, we live in a multicultural society and we should respect and tolerate all cultures, languages etc... but you see after spending your entire life in UK in full time education, getting good GCSEs in english language and english lit, completing dissertations in english (and gaining 70%+), giving presentations to heads of departments at university level to then be told you cant communicate effectively in English is wrong. So you think ok she is a pharmacist maybe she is right then you go and work for a polish pharmacist who does nothing but stand in the corner slowly checking prescriptions, who never answers the phone, only serves polish customers even when really really busy who justifies herself by saying 'my english no that good' and you start wandering how on earth the society let her work as a pharmacist.
that was the issue with her, well that and the fact that sometimes id be labelling and she would just stand behind me doing god knows what. There was this one time she answered the phone after the issue was brought up, but it was obvious it was done on purpose just for show as after she put the phone down she acted as though she wanted a pat on the back.
She had a strange way of doing things. I mean locums would come in and tidy the entire dispensary and clear backlogs, but two days after she was back there would be backlogs again and the place would be a tip. When confronted by the area manager about the state of the place she then asked him for a cleaner.
One does not have to forget their language or culture just cos theyr in a diffferent country.
